When you are planning a wedding there are so many things that tend to pop-up on the "To-Do List". From the big tasks, such as venues and photographers, to the small details, like your something blue.
It seems that list is long and when you first look at it, it appears daunting too. You may find yourself wondering, "Do I really need to do all of this stuff?"
Sure, there are a few tasks that you can skip--maybe most of the generic tasks don't even fit your vision for your wedding day. But, there is one step that we believe is so important for couples to complete.
The Engagement Session.
This brief time with your photographer(s) before your big day is huge. While you may think meeting on the day of the wedding is fine and dandy, there are definitely a few things you should consider before passing on that special engagement session!
You can get comfortable with the camera.
This is a big one. I mean, HUGE. For most couples, getting comfortable on camera is the biggest value in having an engagement session. Let's be honest, most of us don't spend much time with a camera in our face. It isn't a natural thing for most of us. This engagement session gives you the chance to have that awkward moment and then laugh about it later. This way, on your wedding day, you'll be a pro! You'll have no nerves about us hanging around with the cameras. And that is so meaningful to us. At your wedding, we want to become part of the background. Sure--we'll do some posed shots, but I think we all know that the best shots are the candid moments that are caught on camera when you are prepared for it!
You get the chance to really know your photographer. And they get to know you.
For Adam and I we have found that engagement sessions are almost a fun little double date that we get to have with our couples. We get to know you, really know you. See your love for each other and how you interact. We get to see the true beauty and unique aspects that make your relationship special. However, the best part of it all is that you both get to know us. You will have a chance to see how Adam and I interact with each other and how we love working together to capture your story. You get a chance to understand who we are and where we come from. But more importantly, we hope you will see why we love what we do!
You can showcase your pre-wedding excitement.
I can remember when Adam and I were planning our wedding. There were so many things to get done and so many boxes to check. Our engagement session came at the perfect time to give us both a break from the check list and instead celebrate our excitement to make our happy little relationship a big, legal relationship :).
Your photographers can find what works best for you.
Every couple is different. And the engagement session allows us to find what style, what words, and so much more works best for you. Whether it be lighting or posed shots vs nonposed shots...This is a significant benefit because then your photographers do not have to spend any time on your wedding day figuring out what works best for you!
You can get some pretty great images to use for wedding decorations, guest book, holiday cards, and so much more!
The engagement session can allow you to have beautiful, personalized decorations, guest books, and more at your wedding. Adam and I have an extremely easy process for ordering prints that makes it even better!
We truly believe that the engagement session adds so much more value than just images. This is why we have decided to offer a shortened complimentary engagement session in most of our packages! Be sure to get in touch to find out more! We can't wait to meet you!
